This is a collection of Dali’s Llama songs that we have chosen to put out on vinyl. This album does not have songs from our early cds: Pre Post Now (1993), Creative Space (1994), Being (1995), The Color of Apples (recorded in 1996), and Chordata (2006). Remastering the analog masters of these early cds just seemed like a huge task, since most of these are on 2” tape, 1/2” tape, DAT, etc. Guess you’ll just have to buy them on cd. : )
What you have in your hands (we feel) is a solid representation of the heavier side of the band! My first band in this desert was in 1982. I’ve seen bands, friends, and fads come and go. Same old stories as in most small “local” music scenes around the world. But Dali’s Llama is Erica and myself’s rotten little kid, and we’re proud of her! We’re glad she has grown up without stepping on too many people’s toes. It’s rare to see D.I.Y. bands last 20 years! Why? Because it’s fucking hard to do! We thank our true friends, they know who they are. We thank our fans for sticking by us and putting up with my/our musical whims! And of course we thank our past and current band members. We’ve played with some great friends and great musicians. “It’s not over yet man!” 20 years and 10 cds, and now finally something on vinyl. Why so long? Because vinyl’s more expensive, and like I said, we are a fucking D.I.Y. band on our own D.I.Y. label!
Enjoy, and thanks for purchasing this slab! - Zach Huskey
