Dying In The Sun

Bucky Dying in the Sun crushes your skull with goliathan doom, kicks your ass with captivating hooks, wipes the blood with mega-fuzzed out riffs and elicits nightmares with a Pentagram meets Monster Magnet vocal harmony. Songs like Samurai Eyes are perfect examples of how the band effectively merge doom and psychedelic space rock to create a galloping series of riffs, solos and grooves out of this world!

about

"Speaking only of Dali’s Llama’s recent landmark accomplishments including the overdriven amplifiers and gritty stoner shakedowns of Full on Dunes and Raw is Real, the 60s psychedelic rock and surf undertones of the infectiously fun Howl do you Do and the unrelenting doom of their most recent full-length Autumn Woods, these Palm Springs legends can do it all. They never get quite the amount of credit as their peers but they deserve it and then some. Now aligned in a quintet format, Dali’s Llama possesses a storied discography with more variety than their chosen genre often allows and there’s not a bum tune to be found lurking anywhere, nor do they show any signs of slowdown in a career spanning 23 years…that’s really fuckin’ impressive in today’s quickly changing musical climate. Dying in the Sun is the band’s 11th album to date. Encompassing a rock pantheon spanning crushing doom, high energy desert rock n’ roll, beatnik 60s psychedelia and much, much more, this band just keeps getting better with each new record. Kyuss alumnus Scott Reeder returns to the control room, ensuring thick production with plenty of nuance....

Dying in the Sun is my favorite Dali’s Llama record to date because it refuses to pigeonhole itself into one particular sound. Instead it incorporates a vast array of influences into its framework and touches on every aspect of the band’s sprawling discography. It has more than enough of those ultra-heavy, kick your head off your shoulders riffs and rhythmic grinds that made me fall in love with the band in the first place but it also explores the outfit’s daringly melodic side to great success. This is a great place to start for new fans and a must have for Dali’s Llama diehards as well"
